The Betterest

So earlier today Ashlyn noted that a little friend of hers had a nice, pretty mylar balloon...and she did not. So she asked me why her friend had a ballon, because she really wanted one. I shrugged my shoulders and she looked at me for a quick moment before replying (As if she was being illuminated in that split second), "Oh! Is it because his mom is the betterest?"

    My mom has always joked that she's our "favorite mother." (you know, cuz she's our ONLY mother...) Apparently when I was about 7ish, she expressed the fact that she was my favorite mother, and I responded, "Nu-uh, Mrs. Syme is!" I still hear about this faux pas. :-)
    (note: mrs. syme was the mother of one of my friends)
